The Social Milk Supply Program, an initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, was created with the primary purpose of improving access to food for the beneficiary families.

This initiative ensures that people can consume quality fortified milk at a more affordable price.

Coverage and Operation: This program operates at a national level, with two main modalities:

  1. Community Supply: Where milk is supplied through concessions, commercial distribution centers and the Diconsa store system.
  2. Establishment of agreements with public institutions, social and community actors and non-profit legal entities.

Target Population: The program is specifically aimed at:

  • Children from 6 months to 12 years.
  • Teenagers from 13 to 15 years old.
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women.
  • Women between 45 and 59 years old.
  • People with chronic illnesses and disabilities.
  • Seniors aged 60 years or older.

Types of SupportThe main assistance provided by the programme is the supply of fortified and nutritious milk at a preferential price per litre.

This means that the price of Liconsa milk is considerably lower than the average price of commercial milk, thus transferring significant savings to the beneficiary families.

Milk Quantities: Depending on the number of people benefiting in a household, the amount of milk supplied varies.

Each registered person is entitled to up to 4 litres of milk per week, with a maximum of 24 litres per week for a household, depending on the number of beneficiaries.

Enrollment in the Program:

  • The registration process is free. Those who wish to benefit from the program must go to a point of sale with the necessary documentation:
  • Proof of residency within the program coverage area.
  • Official identification and proof of address.
  • Birth certificate of the holder and beneficiaries.
  • CURP (Unique Population Registry Code) of the owner and beneficiaries.
  • In the case of a pregnant or breastfeeding woman, it is necessary to present a medical certificate or a copy of the perinatal card.
  • For people with chronic illnesses or disabilities, it is necessary to present an official medical certificate recommending the consumption of milk.
